Aircastle delivers new aircrafts
Stamford-based Aircastle Ltd. said it has delivered the first of six new airbus A330-200 aircrafts to South African Airways in Johannesburg.
The aircraft will be equipped with latest-generation Rolls-Royce Trent 772B engines. Aircastle said the aircraft will provide the South African airline with improvements in fuel efficiency and operating costs.
Priceline pairs with BandB
Norwalk-based Priceline.com has inked a deal to add BedandBreakfast.com properties to its listings. The financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
BedandBreakfast.com is a website used to find bed-and-breakfasts. The agreement will add and market the rooms of nearly 2,000 bookable bed-and-breakfast inns in the U.S., Canada and Europe on Priceline.com.
Priceline.com, an online hotel booking website with some 61 million room-nights booked in 2009, currently has no bed and breakfasts listed.
Throughout 2011, BedandBreakfast.com”™s properties will be integrated into the lodging options on Priceline.com”™s retail site on which travelers can search and find published rates and availability, explore images and content, read customer reviews and make reservations.
New Norwegian neighbors
Norway-based children”™s furniture company Stokke is moving its headquarters to Stamford from Atlanta.
Stokke, a family owned company, plans to move its 10 employees into the 2,829-square-foot space at High Ridge Corporate Park in Stamford by the end of February.
The move to Stamford is connected with a change in management at the U.S. office, said Stokke”™s marketing director, Charlotte Addison, a Stamford resident.
Stokke makes highchairs, strollers and cribs that appear in major retailers Bed, Bath & Beyond and Buy, Buy Baby.
