Danbury-based manufacturer Ergotech Inc. has moved its headquarters to a larger space within the city and expanded to a new factory in Florida.
The company makes ergonomic technology for factory workers. The headquarters was on Old Newtown Road in Danbury for 17 years and moved to a new factory and office location on Old Sherman Turnpike this month.
Ergotech also is expanding into Florida to be closer to its client base in the southeast, including Mitsubishi, Pratt & Whitney and Sikorsky. CEO Earl Hagman said Florida is business-friendly and having a location there will decrease transportation costs and other expenses for increased business in the southeast.
The company is working with Florida-based CareerSource Suncoast to recruit workers, Hagman said. The facility opened this month in Sarasota and is expected to be fully operational by midsummer.
