Emhart Teknologies in Shelton is continuing to bolster its place in the aerospace industry through acquisition.
Emhart has acquired California-based Fastener Innovation Technology.
Emhart is a Black & Decker-owned company that creates fastening and assembly technologies. Fastener Innovation Technology based in Gardena, CA is designer and manufacturer of specialized aerospace fasteners. Aerospace fasteners are screws, nuts and bolts developed specifically for the aerospace industry.
Emhart purchased the Spiralock Corporation with similar intentions in 2008.
“It enables us to integrate the finest aerospace fastener platforms into a single-source organization,” said Michael Tyll, president of Emhart Teknologies. “This acquisition allows us to better serve the aerospace, military and commercial aircraft industries where FIT enjoys a strong reputation among the world’s leading aerospace companies.”
Emhart has also gained Fastener Innovation Technology”™s customer relationships with Boeing, Honeywell, Bell, GE, Pratt & Whitney, Embraer and Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.
“Production forecasted for both new and replacement aircraft through 2020 reflects the projected growth in global air traffic,” said Tyll. “The purchase of FIT positions Emhart Teknologies to further support this industry growth.”
