Headquarters employees of EMCOR Group Inc. in Norwalk devoted their annual summer outing to benefiting the Miss Laura M. Raymond Homes.
The development is a 50-unit housing community for the elderly and disabled that provides housing for 60 elderly and disabled residents.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to help those in our community,” said Frank T. MacInnis, chairman and CEO of EMCOR, a mechanical, electrical and energy company.
EMCOR”™s entire headquarters staff started the initiative with a full day of activities, including landscaping, socializing and a cookout for the residents.
Miss Laura Raymond was a life-long resident of Norwalk who dedicated her home and property to the care of the elderly and disabled.
The nonprofit corporation that carries her name is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“As a company that has built its reputation on being actively engaged on behalf of our clients, we are delighted to give back to a community that has always been exceedingly supportive of EMCOR,” said MacInnis.
Many of the residents of the Miss Laura M. Raymond Homes worked alongside the employees and participated in the day”™s activities.
EMCOR also held a ceremony in which employees planted a tree to shade future residents.
The company has also begun assisting the Miss Laura M. Raymond Homes with a collection for an outing bus so the residents will have the ability to attend a future community event of their choosing.
