On the eve of its Stamford clinic”™s one-year anniversary at 3000 Summer St., AFC Doctors Express Urgent Care said the clinic has treated more than 7,000 patients and, by operating in a nonhospital environment, has saved those patients a total $1 million in fees.
In the Doctors Express model, on-site physicians and other staff provide emergency care for sprains, fractures and other injuries, minor traumas, infections or illnesses with no appointment necessary.
The company is based in Alabama and maintains sites in Bridgeport, Danbury and West Hartford. In New York, it runs clinics in Hartsdale and the Bronx. Brad Radulovacki is principal investor and owner in Stamford, employing 15.
Radulovacki”™s plans, according to a statement, include other unspecified Stamford sites within the year.
While speed and convenience are part of the model, recommendations from clinic doctors for further treatments have come to patients in the areas including cardiology, urology, orthopedics, diabetes, pain management, podiatry, medication regulation and physical therapy.
Other in-house services include X-rays, lab tests, physicals, drug screening, vaccinations and prescriptions for non-chronic conditions, eliminating the need to visit multiple facilities.
