Dan DeBarba, president of the Danbury and New Milford Hospitals, resigned on May 19 according to Dr. John M. Murphy, president and CEO of West Connecticut Health Network (WCHN).
DeBarba, who was also an executive vice president with WCHN ”” which in addition to Danbury and New Milford includes Norwalk Hospital ”” will leave at the end of the month “to join a large health system in New York,” Murphy said.
“Dan played an instrumental role planning for the affiliation,” Murphy added. “He led a successful integration, which has enhanced quality and patient safety, strengthened our clinical programs and expanded our physician platform. He has been a key player on the leadership team and we are grateful for his many contributions. I will miss his partnership and wish him every success in his life ahead.”
DeBarba transitioned to his WCHN role after the network merged in 2014 with Norwalk Hospital, where he had been president and CEO. He joined Norwalk as vice president and chief financial officer in 2007. That hospital is currently led by President Michael Daglio.
