Danbury Hospital said it was named a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the U.S.
It is the second year in a row the hospital has received the recognition. Danbury Hospital was recognized as part of The Joint Commission”™s 2015 annual report, titled “America”™s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for “attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for heart attack, heart failure, surgical care, immunization, perinatal and pneumonia care,” the hospital reported.
Danbury Hospital is one of only 1,043 hospitals out of more than 3,300 eligible hospitals in the U.S. to achieve the 2014 Top Performer distinction.Â
The Top Performer program recognizes hospitals for improving performance on evidence-based interventions that increase the chances of healthy outcomes for patients with certain conditions, the hospital said.
Additionally, the hospital said it “continues to build off last year”™s award as a Top Performer, an indication of its continuing dedication to the patient experience and a culture of safe, high-quality patient care.”
