Danbury Republicans unanimously nominated Rachel Chaleski to run for a second term representing District 138 in Danbury at the state’s General Assembly during their party convention at Anthony’s Lake Club in Danbury on Tuesday.
“I’ve been honored to be a voice for Danbury residents at the Capitol for the last two years. I ran on a promise of transparency and I’ve worked to keep constituents informed through email updates, web posts, Facebook updates, and in-person coffee hours. The feedback I’ve received at these events, in emails and calls to my office have helped shape my votes in Hartford,” said Chaleski as she accepted the nomination.
Chaleski is currently a member of the Appropriations and Education Committees, and has stated that increasing school funding is among her top goals.
In 2022 Chaleski unseated incumbent Democrat Kenneth Gucker with a narrow margin of 26 votes, taking control of District 138 which includes portions of Danbury, New Fairfield, and Ridgefield.
