Stamford-based Centerplate has started a hospitality solution-generating subsidiary called Centerplate Stir.
“Helping people use food and hospitality to express who they are is what Centerplate Stir is all about,” said John Sergi, Centerplate’s recently appointed Chief Design Officer who is heading up the unit.
Centerplate provides hospitality to North America’s sports stadiums and convention centers.
One of Stir”™s first projects was the Belmont Stakes; additional projects in progress include Tropicana Field for the Tampa Bay Rays, Safeco Field for the Seattle Mariners, Swedbank Arena in Stockolm, Sweden, and the Saratoga Race Course for New York Racing Association.
Sergi said developing themes that resonate through the venues that Centerplate represents is Stir”™s focus. “Projects are built from the ground up for holistic, one-of-a-kind signature guest experiences,” Sergi said.
Des Hague, president and CEO of Centerplate, said the company has been working toward adding Centerplate Stir, which also will be based in Stamford, as a new arm of the business for the past few years.
“This new group will supercharge Centerplate’s ability to develop and deliver innovative hospitality strategies that enhance our clients’ brands and drive their overall returns,” Hague said.
