ConnectiCare garnered a platinum level fit-friendly company rating from the American Heart Association (AHA) for its employee wellness programs for the third consecutive year, the health insurance provider announced Nov. 29.
In order to receive a platinum rating from the AHA, companies would have had to demonstrate positive outcomes in their employee wellness programs in areas such as behavior change, cost savings and return on investment.
Over the past year, ConnectiCare’s overall employee participation in both biometric screening and completion of a health risk assessment (HRA) increased by 33 percent, the company said.
Additionally, the use of program financial incentives per employee increased by 133 percent, with financial incentives earned for HRA participation, meeting biometric goals for blood pressure, LDL cholesterol and/or body mass, and non-smoking premium discounts.
ConnectiCare, based in Farmington, is one of the state’s largest health care coverage providers and a subsidiary of EmblemHealth.
