Chefs’ Warehouse buys Ohio co.

The Chefs”™ Warehouse Inc. acquired Michael”™s Finer Meats L.L.C., a distributor with $80 million in annual revenue based in Columbus, Ohio.

Ridgefield-based Chefs”™ Warehouse paid $54 million for Michael”™s Finer Meats, whose territory includes Indiana, Illinois and western Pennsylvania.

In its second fiscal quarter ending June 29, Chefs”™ Warehouse earned $4.5 million on $115 million in revenue, up 16 percent from a year earlier. In April, the company acquired Praml International, paying nearly $20 million for the Las Vegas-based distributor.
