The Greenwich Business Club”™s board of directors recently presented three Greenwich-based charities with $3,000 apiece. The funds were given to representatives from Greenwich Green and Clean, Kids In Crisis and The Den for Grieving Kids.
The club, a 501(c) (6) business association, raised the monies at its annual charitable event that featured Allan Houston, former NBA star and senior vice president of the New York Knicks, and Brian Cashman, general manager and senior vice president of the New York Yankees. Cashman and Houston both became honorary members of the club”™s board of directors, which includes Ian and Shep Murray, founders of Stamford-based clothing retailer Vineyard Vines.
At the meeting, the Greenwich Business Club also announced a new affiliation with Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., to offer job-search training and advice to returning war veterans.
