Milford-based custom fragrance company Carrubba Inc. recently purchased 7.16 acres of commercial land in Monroe in preparation to relocate the growing company.
The Monroe property at 500 Pepper St. sold for $525,000. Southport-based Angel Commercial LLC facilitated the sale from Alcar Development LLC to Carrubba, which was represented by Coldwell Banker.
Carrubba, a manufacturer of custom fragrances, flavors, botanical extracts and natural deodorants for manufacturers around the world, plans to build a 48,338-square-foot facility for manufacturing as well as to serve as the company’s new headquarters.
President Duane Carrubba said he will bring nearly all of his 60 employees to with him from Milford to the new Monroe facility, which he expects to be completed within six to eight months of breaking ground.
“Next year this time we should probably be moving in,” he said.
Carrubba said the company has not decided what the future will hold for its current Milford facility, but the company will retain the property in case additional space is needed. Carrubba said he expects his company will expand to more than 70 employees over the next five to 10 years.
