The Bridgeport Regional Business Council has begun its search for a new President and CEO.
The search begins following the announcement of the retirement of Paul Timpanelli from the organization after serving as President and CEO since 1988.
“Paul has done an amazing job leading the BRBC for so many years,” said Armando Goncalves, People”™s United Bank Market President for Southern Connecticut, Westchester and Hudson Valley, N.Y. and Chairman of the BRBC Board of Directors. “We look forward to finding just the right leader to deal with new challenges facing the business community in Connecticut and we are excited about continued opportunities to grow the organization.”
The largest business association in the region, the Bridgeport council is comprised of three Chamber of Commerce affiliates: Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce, Stratford Chamber of Commerce, Trumbull Chamber of Commerce; one corporation affiliate: Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation; and two program affiliates: Leadership Greater Bridgeport and the Women’s Leadership Council.
According to the council, the organization”™s unique, collaborative structure advances its active and fluid strategic plan for business growth in the Greater Bridgeport Region. As such, the President and CEO must lead efforts to establish regional partnerships, drive membership, act as an advocate for the business community, work to promote business growth, and support initiatives, policies and legislative efforts at the local, state and federal levels.
Review of applications began March 15, 2016 and will continue until April 22, 2016.
