Splash Car Wash of Stamford has received certification from the International Carwash Association’s WaterSavers program.
Splash is a car care company with locations 18 locations scattered across Westchester, Putnam, and Fairfield counties.
“By visiting Splash Car Wash our customers opt for the eco-friendly, sustainable way to maintain their car’s value and keep it looking new,” said Mark Curtis, co-owner of Splash Car Wash.”Our quality services are a win-win for both the car-owner and Mother Nature.”
Curtis said a longstanding commitment to the community and the environment led to the company meeting the standardized requirements of the WaterSavers program. He said the car washes reclaim and recycle treated water for future wash cycles, and discharge effluent to a sanitary sewer system.
Curtis said that by using a commercial car wash, customers go green and don”™t even know it, because compared to driveway or parking lot car washing, effluent is routed to treatment facilities as opposed to the curb and storm drains.
“Once in storm drain systems, toxic wastewater can enter local lakes, streams, rivers and oceans where it becomes a threat to aquatic life,” said Curtis. “At-home washing requires between 80 and 140 gallons per car, Splash Car Wash uses less than 45 gallons per car.”
