Anthem leads NCQA list in Conn.

The National Center for Quality Assurance (NCQA)  made Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield its top Connecticut plan, with the Wellpoint subsidiary ranked 41st nationally and bumping ConnectiCare from the top spot in the Nutmeg State.

NCQA ranked a pair of Massachusetts plans as the best in the nation: Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Associated Health Maintenance Organization.

NCQA ranked nearly 475 health plans of those based on clinical performance, member satisfaction and NCQA accreditation.

NCQA rankings for other Connecticut plans included:

• ConnectiCare, a subsidiary of EmblemHealth, 46th;
• Cigna, 51st;
• Oxford Health Plans, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth, 79th; and
• Aetna Health, 114th.

The Capital District Physicians’ Healthcare Network led New York health plans, ranked 20th nationally.
