Americares, a health-focused relief and development organization with operations in more than 90 countries, is opening a free clinic for those without medical insurance coverage in Stamford.
The Americares Free Clinic of Stamford at 401 Shippan Ave. will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 25 at 8:30 a.m. The 2,200-square-foot clinic has five exam rooms and will replace a mobile clinic program that Americares launched in 2014.
Last year, Americares treated nearly 850 Stamford-area patients with medical services valued at $2.1 million. The nonprofit also operates clinics in Bridgeport, Danbury and Norwalk.
