Beauty emporium Sephora opened a new shop at the Vernon Hills Shopping Center in Eastchester on Friday, Sept. 8. The line was out the door, according to a store employee. When we visited a day later, the store was filled with teenagers and young women, its core clientele. 
Also on Saturday, Sept. 9, Bloomingdale”™s ”“ with a stand-alone store in White Plains and one in The SoNo Collection in Norwalk ”“ celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Big Brown Bag. At the White Plains store, there is a pop-up shop whose little big brown bags, overstuffed with chocolate-covered and caramel popcorn, caught our eye. The afternoon event featured other sweet treats, Champagne, a DJ and illustrator-designer Bukhtawar Malik festooning special Bloomingdale”™s tote bags.
Meanwhile, Nordstrom, with stores in The Westchester in White Plains and The SoNo Collection as well, bids summer “adieu” with a host of beauty events through Saturday, Sept. 23. Check them out here.
