In recognition of her dedication to raising awareness and fundraising for breast cancer research, Houlihan Lawrence recently presented Liz Battista with its 2023 Humanitarian Award at Sleepy Hollow Country Club.
Battista, who is a cancer survivor, accepted the challenge of leading the company’s Stronger Together fundraising initiative a few years ago.
“Liz’s generosity, compassion and commitment to making a difference are admirable,” said Liz Nunan, president and CEO of Houlihan Lawrence.
“I was thrilled to present her with the 2023 Houlihan Lawrence Humanitarian Award, along with a donation to the American Cancer Society on her behalf.”
Added Battista, an East Fishkill resident who’s been with the company for more than 20 years: “I am blessed to be the behind-the-scenes cheerleader for our inspirational, creative and talented Stronger Together family.” Our fundraising initiative is a huge success each year thanks to the tireless work of all our team leaders across our 32 offices, their agents, managers, our employees, friends and families. It makes my day to hear of the fun events and watch the numbers change each day as our fundraising pros continue their amazing work.”

In other Houlihan Lawrence news, the company reported a decline in home sales in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties for the third quarter.
Faced with continued low inventory, home sales in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties were down 20%, 31% and 21%, respectively, while median sale prices in the three counties showed modest gains.
The report noted that there is intense buyer competition in most price categories. Homes spent the lowest amount of time on the market in years, attributed to ready, willing and able buyers and a large percentage of cash purchases.
“In certain markets, the number of top-price tier listings is beginning
to increase, affording more variety for buyers,” Nunan added. “While the demand might suggest otherwise, buyers remain discerning. Accurate pricing remains critical as overly inflated prices can cause homes to be overlooked and seller disappointment.
“We anticipate buyer demand to continue with our markets offering so
much, from housing to recreation, culture and more. It remains an opportune
time to sell north of New York City. We are grateful to our clients and communities for continuing to choose Houlihan Lawrence year after year.”
