Fall arrives at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 and with it comes the new, $500 million Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC), the last element in the new World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.
Led by board Chairman”¯Mike Bloomberg, who as New York City mayor envisioned the center as the cultural keystone to the master plan to rebuild the World Trade Center after 9/11, Executive Director”¯Khady Kamara, and Artistic Director”¯Bill Rauch, the new performing arts center features flexible venues, enabling the facility to embrace wide-ranging artistic programs. The inaugural year includes commissions, world premieres, co-productions and collaborative work across theater, dance, music, opera, film and more.
Celebrate the new season at the site ”“ a radiant 138-foot-tall cube named for businessman-philanthropist Ronald O. Perelman and designed by architectural firm REX, led by founding principal”¯Joshua Ramus, in collaboration with executive architect”¯Davis Brody Bond, theater consultant”¯Charcoalblue”¯and acoustician”¯Threshold Acoustics.
