With a fresh focus on holistic living and community connection, the Greenwich Historical Society”™s Tavern Garden Markets return to their Cos Cob campus Wednesday, May 17. Locally sourced farm-to-table produce, eggs, baked goods, flowers and one-of-a-kind accessories and crafts are back, layered with a series of special events for personal enrichment and wellness. The markets will be open, rain or shine, on alternating Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in May, June, September and October.”¯

Meredith Geller, a nutrition consultant and sister to Mike Geller of Greenwich-based Mike”™s Organic, has come on board to help manage the events and instill a broader holistic element for driving community connection. “I love creating community and connection and am honored to be working with the historical society… being a part of bringing together beautiful food, artisans, artists and florists as well as an additional healing element to the Tavern Garden Markets this year.””¯

Among returning vendors are Wave Hill Breads, Double L Market, Silvia”™s Kitchen, Katie Bartels and Vivid Cottage. This year”™s market welcomes new vendors, including Nit Noi Provisions, Wildacre, Rochambeau Farms, The Silhouette Lady, Papinau Studio and Espalier Natural Botanics.
”¯The May 17th”¯kickoff will feature”¯Christopher Beane,”¯a New York City-based photographer and artist known for his sumptuous florals and mixed media, who is represented by Jim Kempner Fine Art in Manhattan. On May 31,”¯Demitra, a practicing astrologer for 25 years, will discuss the gifts of the zodiac ”“ how each sign is gifted with unique talents and abilities.”¯Ceramic artist Leigh Taylor Mickelson will present a collection of her nature-inspired sculpture at the June 14 market. And on June 28, Joel Dawson of Old Greenwich Honey will”¯give an overview of his beekeeping process, the hive system and honey”™s many health benefits.”¯ Space is limited for the talks and registration is recommended.”¯
