For those looking to observe Easter in a historically significant setting, consider the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Now in its 43rd year, the Easter Sunrise Service at the Lincoln Memorial will begin on April 9 at 6:30 a.m. The interdenominational service is hosted by National Community Church in Washington, D.C., and will be led by Mark Batterson, the church”™s pastor and a New York Times best-selling author, with gospel/worship artist Todd Dulaney offering musical support.
“If you think Washington’s Cherry Blossom Festival is unforgettable, just wait until you see the sun rise over the National Mall and hear thousands of people singing together,” said service organizer Heather Zempel. “Come early. While the 1,700 chairs fill up fast, there is plenty of room for everyone on the Memorial steps and on the lawn. The morning can start out on the chilly side, so be sure to dress warmly and bring a blanket.”
More information on the event and a livestream of the service can be found at EasterSunrise.com.
