ArtsWestchester is launching a new happy hour in White Plains featuring singers and poets.
The monthly Gallery Nite Out begins today ”“ Thursday, March 23 ”“ at 6 p.m. with performances in the arts group”™s penthouse suite at 31 Mamaroneck Ave. by the singers/songwriters Journi and Cristina F. and the poets JAK and Nya Vincent.
The event diversifies after-work options along Mamaroneck Avenue.
“We are trying to bring a different kind of happy hour to Westchester by mixing happy hour with art,” said Jazmyn Thorpe, special events coordinator at ArtsWestchester, adding that the event is interactive.
Cristina F. has performed throughout the region, including Pianos NYC, The Bitter End, Yonkers Riverfest, Rockwood Music Hall and the Irvington Town Hall Theater. In 2020, Broadway star Christine Dwyer performed Cristina’s original Christmas song, “I Won’t Be Alone on Christmas Day,” as part of a virtual holiday cabaret.
Journi is the lead singer on Walt Disney World”™s 50th Anniversary song, “The Magic is Calling.”
Vincent, better known as Purpose”™s Pen, focuses on creating timeless art through words. JAK”™s works, “Chronicles of a Convicted Felon” and “Life”™s Menstrual Cycles,” have been published in Mercy College”™s Red Hyacinth Journal.
