Sacred Heart Greenwich’s School Assembly with Haben Girma

We are delighted to invite you to Sacred Heart Greenwich for a special school assembly with Haben Girma, an acclaimed disability rights advocate, author, and the first Deafblind graduate of Harvard Law School. This collaborative event will also include Sacred Heart Greenwich Middle and Upper School students as well as Brunswick Middle School.

This unique opportunity to hear from a trailblazer like Haben Girma aligns with our commitment to fostering a community of engaged, empathetic, and socially responsible learners and our commitment to Goal 3: Schools of the Sacred Heart commit themselves to educate to a social awareness which impels to action. Throughout January, we will focus on disability awareness, with dedicated time in advisory for student-led discussions inspired by Haben Girma’s message. These conversations will have students reflect on inclusivity and accessibility, deepening our collective understanding and teaching us all how to eradicate social structures, practices, systems, and values that perpetuate any injustice.
