Annual Take Steps Walk

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s Connecticut/Westchester Chapter will host its annual Take Steps walk to raise awareness and critical funds for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The family-friendly event will feature a community walk, opening ceremony, live entertainment, activities for all ages, food vendors, and recognition of this year’s Honored Heroes.

2026 HONORED HEROES

• Dr. Jared Macklin – Gastroenterologist and IBD specialist at Summit Health (Westmed) and advocate for patients living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
• Shannon Haines – Crohn’s disease patient, Camp Oasis counselor, and youth advocate raising awareness for IBD.
• The Nachman Family – Advocates sharing their family’s experience navigating Crohn’s disease across generations.

• 11:00 AM – Check-In & Festival Opens
• 12:00 PM – Opening Ceremony
• 12:20 PM – Walk Begins 

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
• Face painting and balloon artists
• Live entertainment from Bach to Rock
• Food vendors including Brooklyn Organic Kitchen, Incas Plancha, and Grumpy Dumpling
• Complimentary Uncle Louie G’s Italian ice following the walk
• VIP Trailblazer Lodge access for participants who raise $500+ and teams who raise $7,000+

 Take Steps is the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s largest nationwide fundraising event dedicated to funding research, education, advocacy, and support programs for the millions of Americans living with inflammatory bowel disease.
