2024 Light The Night

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual Light The Night event returns to Playland Park on Saturday, October 19, 2024, uniting our community in a powerful display of support for those affected by blood cancers. This inspiring evening, hosted by the Westchester and Fairfield Chapter of LLS, gathers friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors to celebrate, honor, and remember loved ones touched by these cancers.

2024 Light The Night Executive Leadership Committee Chair Fred Robustelli said: “We are thrilled to announce the return of Light The Night, where we come together to illuminate the path towards a cure for blood cancers. This event not only brings hope but also raises critical funds for lifesaving research, advocacy, and patient support provided by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.”

Highlighting this year’s event is the Executive Challenge, featuring executives from Westchester and Fairfield Counties in a friendly competition to raise funds in support of LLS.The Light The Night Executive Challenge is an 8-week fundraising competition among corporate executives and emerging leaders in the Westchester-Fairfield area. In 2023, Executive Challengers raised a combined $12 million nationally, with the top Westchester-Fairfield Executive Challenger raising $32,600. The goal for the 2024 Westchester-Fairfield Challenge is to have 47 challengers raising a total of $275,000.

2024 Light The Night Executive Challenge Chair and Head of Store Engagement Client Experience at Brooks Brothers Kristi Brink said: “The Executive Challenge introduces a transformative element to our initiatives. As the grandmother of a leukemia survivor, I am deeply moved by the overwhelming response of leaders and accomplished individuals in our communities who have eagerly embraced this friendly competition. Witnessing local leaders step forward to champion this cause is truly inspiring and underscores their commitment to making a tangible difference in the battle against cancer.”

Leading the evening’s festivities will be News 12 Westchester’s Tara Rosenblum as the Master of Ceremonies. The event kicks off at 5:00 PM with a variety of activities, culminating in a poignant Opening Ceremony at 6:30 PM followed by the symbolic Walk at 7:00 PM. The night concludes with post-event celebrations, including fireworks at 7:45 PM, ending at 8:00 PM.

Robustelli said: “We invite everyone to join us for this unforgettable evening as we walk together towards a world without blood cancers. Together, let’s bring light to the darkness of cancer and make a difference in the lives of those battling blood cancers. Join us at Light The Night and help us fund the cure.”
