Greenwich is celebrating its 10th LGBTQ+ Pride on Saturday, June 6 at 4 p.m. ET at Greenwich Town Hall, Elected officials, religious and community leaders will gather with LGBTQ+ leaders and residents, families and allies to honor the kickoff to Pride Month with a formal program, Pride flag raising, reading of the proclamation declaring June Pride Month in Greenwich, and activities for all.
WHO: Greenwich Pride in collaboration with the Town of Greenwich is hosting an inspiring afternoon of programs and activities in support of honoring LGBTQ+ residents and our family and friends and allies.
Leaders will share remarks, following by the reading of the Proclamation declaring June LGBTQ Pride Month and the Pride flag raising. Ice cream truck, games, DJ and community tables in the field adjacent to Town Hall following the ceremony.
WHEN: Saturday, June 6, 2026; 4 PM (formal program and flag raising); through 6 PM (DJ, games and activities and ice cream).
WHY: LGBTQ+ people are our neighbors, family members, friends, teachers, first responders, healthcare workers, artists, parents, and students — essential members of the Greenwich community. Basic rights, especially for transgender people, are still under threat, and our young people are particularly vulnerable; they deserve affirming, safe spaces to be themselves. Visible allyship, leadership, and education about LGBTQ+ lives are essential. Pride Month is a time to celebrate and recommit to building a just, fair, and safe town where LGBTQ+ people can thrive.
As it reads in the Greenwich Pride Proclamation that will be read on June 6th, “The Town of Greenwich proudly supports the rights of every citizen to experience equality and freedom from discrimination. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) communities contribute to the cultural, civic and economic successes of the Town of Greenwich; and we as a society acknowledge the need for education and awareness to end discrimination and prejudice.”
