The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra is teaming with the Hartford Chorale for a pair of presentations this weekend of Handel’s “Messiah.”
The concerts will be held on Dec. 10 at 4:00 p.m. at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury and on Dec. 11 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua’s in Litchfield. Soloists from the Yale University Opera Program will provide vocals for this presentation of the stirring holiday season oratorio, which was written in 1741 and first performed in the U.S. in a 1770 concert.
