Purchase-headquartered Mastercard (NYSE:MA) has announced plans to release free non-fungible tokens (NFT) to help Web3 musicians expand their visibility.
According to a CoinDesk.com report, the company used the NFT.NYC event to highlight the availability of the Mastercard Music Pass NFT, which can be used at no cost for minting NFTs. Mastercard Music Pass NFT was developed in coordination with Polygon and is a digital collectible that provides access to the Mastercard Artist Accelerator program, which connects artists with AI technology and educational tools along with access to Web3 experts.
Mastercard added that Web3 musicians, fans and enthusiasts will be able to collect these NFTs through the end of April.
“As a company, we hope to help people and partners around the world better understand and trust how blockchain and digital assets are used, and how our technology can support the ecosystem,” said Raja Rajamannar, chief marketing and communications officer at Mastercard. “We also believe that Web3 can be a powerful tool in connecting people and building communities around shared universal passions.”
