Ernst & Young L.L.P. bestowed its New York-area “cleantech” Entrepreneur of the Year award to Michael Fallquist, founder and CEO of Norwalk-based Viridian Energy,
“Viridian started as an idea to help individuals make a large collective environmental impact by simply switching their energy supplier,” Fallquist said, in a written statement. “It has turned into so much more.”
Just three years after its launch, Viridian revenue totaled $206 million in 2011, with the company boasting a customer base of more than 200,000 people in Connecticut, New York and five other states.
Fallquist is eligible for Ernst & Young”™s national Entrepreneur of the Year awards in November.
