Tradition Energy will relocate within Stamford, with a long-term lease arranged by Colliers International and RHYS Commercial.
In early 2016, the global energy brokerage and procurement management consulting firm will move its headquarters from 680 Washington Blvd. to the entire top floor at 9 W. Broad St. in Stamford, a 22,500-square-foot space.
Michael Gordon, executive managing director at Colliers, and Joseph A. Cabrera, Colliers vice chairman, represented the tenant in the transaction. Cory Gubner, president and CEO of RHYS, and Christian Bangert, RHYS senior vice president and principal, represented the building ownership.
The property, a 202,000-square-foot building owned by a joint venture between affiliates of Westport Capital Partners LLC and Forstone Capital, recently completed renovations to 9 West”™s lobby, conference center, cafe and boardroom, among other upgrades. As part of the redevelopment, the ownership added a new fitness center and an outdoor plaza that will connect the property to the revitalized Mill River Park. It will soon undergo improvements to modernize the facade.
Alan Kurzer, CEO of Tradition Energy, said the business has grown in the past several years and 9 West fit the company”™s needs.
Other tenants at the property include Star Gas, Tagetik, Transatlantic Reinsurance Co. and Siena Lending Group.
Gubner said the building is approximately 60 percent filled. Bangert said they are continuing to seek tenants from software, financial services, energy and reinsurance companies.
