State regulators are investigating whether some Connecticut Light & Power Co. meters are inaccurate, and plan to review CL&P policies for meter-related complaints and refunds.
State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said he asked for the investigation, saying his office has received dozens of complaints claiming the company appeared to be “stonewalling” customers who protested unexplained usage spikes.
Blumenthal indicated he plans to contact attorneys general in other states with the aim of investigating whether an industrywide problem exists.
