About 14,000 Connecticut Light & Power Co. customers in Fairfield County were without power as of 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, as residents and businesses braced for the full onslaught of Hurricane Sandy Monday night.
In the early hours of the storm, Wilton, Weston and Redding were the only Fairfield County towns with more than 10 percent of CL&P customers dealing with outages. In Stamford, however, more than 4,000 CL&P customers were in the dark.
Information on United Illuminating Co. outages was not immediately available, with the New Haven-based company supplying power in Bridgeport and other parts of eastern Fairfield County.
