Two months after generating electricity for the first time from wind farms in upstate New York, a Middlesex County company has filed to raise $375 million in an initial public offering of stock.
Noble Environmental Power L.L.C. currently is producing up to 280 megawatts of electricity from wind turbines, providing electricity for the equivalent of more than 200,000 homes in windy weather. The company anticipates adding nearly 1,000 more megawatts of capacity by the end of next year.
The Essex company has 150 employees. Walter Howard, CEO of Noble Environmental Power, previously held executive positions with American Water Works Inc. and General Electric Co.
