A documentary about Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday.
The film, called “Indian Point,” chronicles the nuclear power plant”™s history, which dates back to the 1950s, and the ongoing controversies surrounding the plant”™s operation. The documentary includes interviews with federal agency employees, residents from the community, journalists, plant workers and representatives from environmental organizations.
The film”™s first showing will be at a theater in the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. Following the film will be a Q&A with the director, Ivy Meeropol; Gregory Jaczko, former chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commissionl Brian Vangor, a senior control room operator at Indian Point; and others.
The documentary will also be screened at 3 p.m. Sunday, 3:30 p.m. April 22 and 6:15 p.m. April 24 at different theaters. Visit tribecafilm.com for more information.
