Fairfield County”™s colonial-era architecture and society will be explored by the nonprofit Histoury on April 30 with “The Saltboxes of Stratford: A Walking Tour of Colonial Homes in the Historic Village.”
The walking tour examines the history of the “saltbox” houses that were prominent in New England during the 17th and 18th centuries, and were often used as a “starter” home during the colonial period. The tour will encompass approximately two-dozen surviving saltbox homes from the era and will include interior visits, complete with original details.
The tour starts at 1:00 p.m. and runs 2.5 hours. Standard pricing is $49, with student pricing at $29. More information is available on the Histoury website.
