Healthcare Trustees of New York State (HTNYS), which is based in Rensselear, has named four new members to serve three-year terms on its 20-member board of governors. One of the new board members is Kevin J. Plunkett, director of strategic initiatives for Simone Development Companies.
Plunkett has been with Simone since 2018 and is well known in Westchester County’s business and nonprofit communities. He was Westchester’s deputy county executive from 2010 to 2018 and has served on the boards of numerous nonprofit and educational institutions including ArtsWestchester, Westchester ARC Foundation and Iona College. He currently serves as chair of Northwell Phelps Community Board and is vice-chair of The Broadview, an intergenerational senior facility on the campus of SUNY Purchase. He is also chair of the Business Development Board of Tompkins Mahopac Bank, an affiliate of Tompkins Financial Corp.

“I am deeply honored by this appointment to the board of the Healthcare Trustees of New York State,” Plunkett said. “I look forward to being of service to New York’s health care community.”
A division of the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS), the HTNYS Board of Governors is composed of representatives of hospitals, continuing care organizations and health systems from across New York state. The trustees have a responsibility to provide guidance and assist HTNYS activities and programs that aim to strengthen New York’s health care system through improved leadership and involvement by health care trustees.
Also named to new terms on the HTNYS board with Plunkett were Karen Callahan of the Cayuga Health System, Don Harris of O’Connor Hospital and Dallas Sutton of North Star Health Alliance.
The vice chair of the HTNYS Board of Governors is Laurence Smith who has served on the White Plains Hospital board of directors since 2004. The chairman is Muhammed Javed of Olean General Hospital.
