Fairfield University held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of its new campus in Austin, Texas.
The new campus will be occupied by the university”™s Egan School of Nursing & Health Studies, which offers a full-time, 15-month accelerated second-degree baccalaureate nursing (SDNU) program. The campus includes a 21-bed simulation center and simulated rooms for ICU, obstetrics, pediatrics, and med-surg, an operating room, home care suites and skill labs.
“During this nationwide nursing crisis, we are honored to do our part by expanding access to Fairfield”™s exceptional baccalaureate nursing program and confident that the residents of Texas will benefit greatly from the care of Fairfield-educated nurses,” said Dr. Meredith Wallace Kazer, dean of the Egan School.
