Fairfield University has announced its 2023 Bennett Lecture in Judaic Studies will be “An Evening with Joel Grey,” a special presentation starring the iconic entertainer.
Best known for this Tony- and Oscar-winning performances as the Emcee in “Cabaret,” Grey”™s career began as a nine-year-old in a 1941 Cleveland Play House production of “On Borrowed Time.” His acting career has spanned stage, screen and television, and he also scored success as a director ”“ including a Yiddish-language Broadway adaptation of “Fiddler on the Roof” ”“ and as the creator of five books of photography.
Grey”™s appearance at Fairfield University is sponsored by the school”™s Bennett Center for Judaic Studies and will take place on March 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Quick Center”™s website.
Update: The university announced late on the afternoon of Feb. 24 that the March 2 presentation has been postponed, but a new date has not been scheduled.
