“Jobs are up an average of 2,800 per month so far in 2023, an indication of a solid, stable economy,” said Patrick Flaherty, director of the Office of Research at the Connecticut Department of Labor. “Unusual weather patterns have contributed to month-to-month volatility in the jobs numbers, but the low level of unemployment shows the labor market’s continued resilience.”
Connecticut’s private sector employment declined by 1,400 positions last month to 1.45 million and the government supersector was up by 500 jobs to a level of 230,200.
