After focusing the initial phase of Connecticut’s new “Still Revolutionary” advertising campaign on tourism venues, the next phase will also feature cutting-edge companies here including ESPN, Pratt & Whitney and Alexion Pharmaceuticals.
Since Gov. Dannel P. Malloy took office in 2011, ESPN and Alexion have secured incentives under his “First Five” jobs program in exchange for promises to create jobs.
Heading into the fall foliage season, the tourism campaign will also highlight additional tourism sites, including the iconic West Cornwall Bridge and Kent Falls in Litchfield County. The campaign will be delivered through TV, print and digital ads and a new website at ctforbusiness.com. Malloy’s office said visitations to major Connecticut attractions are up 7 percent from a year ago, and that the state’s tourism website has seen traffic double since the ad campaign debuted.
“Whether it”™s tourism dollars or economic development, we are going to compete,” said Malloy in a prepared statement. “This campaign tells the stories of companies that are inventing the future today through innovation. Being revolutionary is what binds them, along with all the businesses in Connecticut.”
