The Westchester County Association has appointed Marissa Brett as its executive director of economic development, effective July 5.
Brett, who currently is vice president of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC), will be primarily responsible for implementing the association”™s Blueprint for Westchester campaign, a multimillion-dollar, multiyear initiative that is directed at boosting the region”™s economic growth.
As executive director, Brett will also work with real estate organizations in Westchester to develop a strategy to effectively market available real estate to companies looking to enter into or expand within the county.
“We want to ensure that Westchester is top of mind when businesses consider relocating or expanding,” Brett said in a release from the WCA.
During her past six years with the HVEDC, Brett developed and implemented all of the organization”™s real estate marketing programs and launched a region-wide transaction database to track all leases and sales of property. The result included the occupation of more than 7 million square feet of commercial space and the creation of nearly 6,000 jobs.
“Marissa is uniquely qualified to work with us in implementing The Blueprint for Westchester,” said WCA President Bill Mooney.
“During the past six years, she evaluated economic development efforts throughout the country as a guide in determining the right course of action for the Hudson Valley. Her knowledge and breadth of experience will be invaluable to the Blueprint and the entire WCA team.”
