Verizon Wireless is adding 135 jobs throughout the New York metro area.
The company announced in a press release it will hire 10 full-time inside sales representatives in Orangeburg, and 100 part-time retail sales and customer support reps in the area, including Rockland and Westchester counties. An additional 25 positions will be based in Long Island.
“We’re proud to be able to expand our local investment further by creating new job opportunities within the New York metro region,” said Pat Devlin, president of the New York metro region for Verizon Wireless in a statement.
Verizon is looking for candidates who speak English and Spanish to meet the needs of the growing Hispanic population.
Job requirements for inside sales representatives include one year of sales experience in a commission environment. Job requirements for the retail sales representative position, a 30-hour per week job, include one to two years of sales experience in a commission environment, while customer support requires one year of related experience.
