Connecticut’s Office of Tourism is asking residents to vote on their favorite town to help the office choose which towns to promote this year.
The winning town will receive a two-minute promotional video and the top 10 favorite towns will receive additional support through social media and tourism guides. The marketing efforts will support both tourism and business development.
“From bustling beach enclaves to rural retreats and storied cities, Connecticut”™s landscape is vastly diverse,” said Kip Bergstrom, deputy commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development. “Each community offers something unique and unforgettable. That”™s why we”™re calling on those who love this state to vote for the places that fill them with pride.”
The Tourism Office plans to make the Town of the Year contest an annual event. Last year, the Mark Twain House and Museum won the Tourism Office’s favorite Connecticut destination contest.
Residents can vote once a day on the Visit Connecticut Facebook page until May 15. Each vote cast will be entered to win a four-night trip to the Connecticut River Valley to visit Essex, Old Lyme, Chester and East Haddam.
