Cross County Shopping Center, the open-air mall in Yonkers, will feature six new retailers over the next year, officials said. Sunglass Hut is already in place with Michael Kors, Skechers USA Inc., Noodles & Company, Burrata Pizza and Jamba Juice on the way.
According to mall officials, the 1,000-square-foot Sunglass Hut store opened in October; the 3,000-square-foot Michael Kors store is expected to open in November; the 3,200-square-foot Skechers store is expected to open late this fall; the 2,500-square-foot Noodles & Company restaurant is expected to open for the holiday season; the 325-square-foot Burrata Pizza kiosk is expected to open early next year; and the 375-square-foot Jamba Juice kiosk is expected to open next summer.
Burrata Pizza currently operates a location on White Plains Road in Eastchester.
Officials from Santa Barbara, California-based Macerich Co., the manager of Cross County, said the new stores are part of an ongoing re-merchandising effort at the Yonkers shopping center, which saw a $250 million renovation four years ago. The mall is owned by Freehold, New Jersey-based Brooks Shopping Center LLC.
“Since completing a $250 million renovation and redevelopment in 2011, the center has continued to update the mix of fashion retailers and restaurants at Cross County Shopping Center,” James Stifel, chief investment officer for Benenson Capital Partners and executive vice president of Brooks Shopping Center, said. “We are excited to bring in brands that are both new to the market and are a perfect complement to the current offerings that meet the needs of our shoppers.”
The Cross County Shopping Center, opened in 1954 adjacent to the New York State Thruway in Yonkers, includes more than 70 retail stores and 1.08 million square feet of open-air retail space. A 155-room Hyatt Place hotel opened at the shopping center in April.
