Kimco Realty Corporation of New Hyde Park, Long Island is expanding its incubator program for aspiring entrepreneurs into Connecticut to help aspiring business owners launch their first retail venture, service operation, or restaurant.
The Kimco Entrepreneurs Year Start program places qualified applicants into Kimco shopping centers with one year of free rent and additional benefits such as affordable first-year property charges, access to business counselors, the option of a four-year lease after the first year and access to benefit of a shop location in an established retail center.
The company has three locations available in Connecticut; Wilton, Enfield and North Haven.
Several shop locations are available in the Wilton River Park shopping center on Old Ridgefield Road ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand square feet.
Interested KEYS applicants are asked to provide a written business plan with specific goals and objectives and demonstrate adequate funding for their venture among other requirements.
According to Kimco, the company is North America”™s largest publicly traded owner and operator of open-air shopping centers. As of June 30, 2015, the company owned interests in 727 shopping centers comprising 107 million square feet of leasable space across 39 states, Puerto Rico, Canada and Chile.
