Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress is seeking economic development ideas to be included in the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council’s bid for $500 million through New York’s Upstate Revitalization Initiative.
Ideas are sought for regional tourism, including agriculture and food and beverage; city, town and village investments; and high-tech and high-salary job creation. As part of a competition approved by the state Legislature, New York will award up to $500 million in funds to three economic regions from the Hudson Valley north.
Regional economic development councils are asked to submit a long-term revitalization plan that includes the region”™s strengths and how it will overcome its weaknesses, how the region will create good-paying permanent private-sector jobs, how the region will lure significant private-sector investment and why an influx of state resources will help create sustainable economic growth.
