Old Greenwich resident Gervais Hearn is the incoming president of the board of directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals Fairfield County for 2015.
AFP Fairfield County, a member of AFP International, is a professional association seeking to generate philanthropic support for 2,800 nonprofit and charitable organizations in the county.
AFP by its mission fosters the education, development and growth of fundraising professionals. It has 213 chapters and 30,000 members globally.
Gervais is the development director of the September 11th Memorial in Greenwich. The organization seeks to honor the memory of the 32 people with ties to Greenwich who lost their lives on 9/11.
Previously, Hearn served as director of parish development at Christ Church in Greenwich.
“I look forward to 2015, working with a strong board and providing new initiatives that will grow our membership,” Hearn said. “We will offer excellent education programs and fun opportunities for networking.”
The AFP Fairfield County provides regular professional development opportunities and networking for those involved in fundraising, either vocationally or as volunteers. Monthly meetings with featured speakers are held the first Thursday of every month from September to June at The Norwalk Inn & Conference Center in Norwalk.
