GREENWICH – Family Centers has expanded The Mark Family Dental Health Center to three dental chairs from one, significantly increasing its ability to serve patients and creating additional capacity to meet a growing demand in lower Fairfield County.
The nonprofit marked the expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, June 22, as it recognized the generosity of principal donors Arlene and Reuben Mark as well as the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Greenwich Communities. U.S. Rep. Jim Himes (D-Greenwich) joined Family Centers leadership, staff, supporters, and community members for the event.
As one of only a few dental providers in Greenwich that accepts Connecticut’s Medicaid program HUSKY Health, Family Centers plays a critical role in ensuring access to dental care for children and families. The expansion will help the Center meet growing demand for preventive and restorative dental services.
“Oral health is an essential part of overall health,” said Family Centers Chief Health Officer Dennis Torres. “By expanding from one dental chair to three, we have significantly increased our ability to meet the growing need for dental care in our community. This investment allows us to serve more patients and provide timely access to the preventive and restorative care that helps children and adults stay healthy.”
Family Centers is a nonprofit organization that has served the residents of lower Fairfield County for more than 130 years. Because people rarely have just one need, Family Centers provides education, health care, and supportive services together to help children, adults, and families thrive.
