New York State Assemblyman Robert J. Castelli today encouraged Westchester business owners to take advantage of two upcoming events aimed at promoting small business growth and economic development opportunities.
The Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council, part of Gov. Andrew Cuomo”™s statewide economic development initiative, will host an open meeting on the state”™s Consolidated Funding Application June 25 at 7 p.m. at Marist College in Poughkeepsie.
The CFA was created prior to last year”™s regional economic development awards as a means of streamlining the application process for state economic development grants.
Then, on June 28, a handful of state agencies will host a Small Business Outreach Initiative event at the headquarters of the New York Power Authority on 123 Main Street in White Plains at 6:30 p.m.
There, business owners and future entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from the state Department of Labor, the state Department of Taxation and Finance, the State Liquor Authority, the Workers”™ Compensation Board and Empire State Development Corp. to answer questions relating to state regulations and business assistance programs.
“This event will help reduce burdensome red tape for our small businesses while providing helpful information, which could help them grow and flourish, even in today”™s tough economic times,” said Castelli, a Republican from Goldens Bridge, in a statement.
